Cody Stockstill, assistant professor and theatre concentration coordinator in the College of Arts and Sciences鈥 Department of Communication, said Studio Maroon gives students hands-on experience to oversee all aspects of theatre performances, including design, directing and production.
鈥淣ot only are our students providing an evening鈥檚 entertainment, but also audiences have the chance to see the students鈥 work as developing theatre artists,鈥 Stockstill said.
A classic Tennessee Williams one-act play set in the 1930鈥檚 Mississippi Delta, 鈥27 Wagons Full of Cotton鈥 follows three individuals as they deal with chaos suddenly thrown into their lives. Written in 1946, the play premiered on Broadway in 1955.聽
Richard Greenberg鈥檚 鈥淭he Author鈥檚 Voice鈥 is a modern comedy revolving around an up-and-coming author and the gnome he keeps captive to serve as his ghostwriter. Reminiscent of Cyrano de Bergerac, 鈥淭he Author鈥檚 Voice鈥 originally was written in 1987.
